Matthew Adams

Matt,

Though you may be gone, you will not be forgotten. I’m glad to have known you, even if it was only a short time. I’ll miss you dearly.

Michaela,

Matt was and will always be a wonderful man, and when he was with you I had never seen him happier. I love you both very much.

Your Friend,
Samantha

Michaela, Samanthas mother here. I’m very sorry for your loss. I followed Matts progress though Samanths blogs. He fought bravely and hard. This is a terrible disease. It’s hard to see now but you will look back and know how blessed you and all of the people who knew Matt (be it personal or they way I did) are. He certainly seemed to have everything together even in his down times. My heart felt sympathy goes to you and his family.
Samantha what a beautiful tribute picture. You are my awsome daughter.
    Love,
    Mom

    Samantha,

This is Jake, Matt’s younger brother. I just wanted to say that your tribute is touching and I thank you for it. If you don’t mind, I’d like to link to it at Matt’s blog (mudstang94.livejournal.com) to share it with more of Matt’s family and friends.

I also need to thank you on my grandmother’s behalf. While volunteering at the State Museum on New Years Eve, she mentioned the death of her twenty-seven year old grandchild to the people volunteering as face-painters. The face painter asked her his name and when she said “Matt Adams” the face painter mentioned she’d seen this tribute online to him. The fact that this person she had never met before had heard about Matt’s passing in such a nice was seemed to mean a lot to her.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve told the Bacon story. Matt was one of the first friends I made when I got to college. I met him through the fencing club; he was such a ball of energy. He came out to the country with me for a bithrday party, and I had almost forgotten about that until I saw the picture of him on my Dad’s big blue tractor.

The first time Matt met my Mother, he had come to one of my little brothers gigs in Speedway. Being underaged at the time, Max decided to go over to the strip club next door, and Matt had gone after him to make sure he didn’t get in to any trouble. Mom was ready to kill him until I explained that Matt had not taken him over there, but had actually gone over to get him.

When I heard that Matt was in the hospital, I wanted to do something, but all I could think of was to draw Matt. It helped me cope with his passing. By all means, please link it to Matt’s blog.

I’m sorry for your loss but I was kind of freaked out when I saw this drawing. He looks like he could have been my twin… and even weirder is he is wearing almost the same colors i had for my wedding… including the yellow rose in the background….and then the same last name (as commen as it may be) is what helped clench it…
Once again im sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to lose someone close to you… especially a friend, However I had to share how small the world is sometimes.

Oh and PS… even odder is the fact that i was adopted so I never know who I could truely be related to.
