Your doctor obviously had a hidden agenda. What a bastard.

Actually, your doc had reasons to do what he did. If your ears looked fine and you’re experiencing headaches, there is a good chance it is really the same nerve compression from vasodialation some people call migraines. They’ve released studies recently that they’ve figured out that most headaches, something like 85% of them are the same physiological process as migraines. Many people call them sinus headaches or other things, but they are just degrees of the same phenomenon. And they cause compression in your head. They can compress ear canals, sinuses, or manifest as pain in various other ways, too. My ears bug me a day or so before I get a migraine. I won’t say that is absolutely what is going on with your ears, but I will say it was a pretty good “most likely with the given pattern” guess at what was going on on the doc’s part. He’s actually pretty good for catching the possibility, if not for explaining it well.

god i know how that is

my doc: so what brings you here today
me: I’m having difficulty hearing people out of my left ear. I don’t have problems hearing anything else, just people.
Doc: ok. *checks out ears* We’re going to run a quick test
*nurse comes in sticks thing in my ear and tells me to raise my hand when I hear a beep then leaves*
Doc: *comes back in, looks at paper*
me: so what’s wrong with me
Doc: it appears you’re having trouble hearing the average tone of human voices out of your left ear.
Me: *face palm* I knew that already, what I want to know is why!!!!
